It looks like ‘Child’s Play’ creator Don Mancini’s TV series based on the franchise is eying a 2020 launch.
Replying to a fan on Twitter recently, Mancini said “TV Series! 2020!”:

The series is being produced for the Syfy channel, with “Chucky” being the working title. Brad Dourif is expected to return as the voice of Chucky. Nick Antosca will produce the show. He recently spoke to Slash Film and discussed the project:
“The series is going to be closer to the tone of the first two movies in the series,” Antosca said. “It’s going to go back to a sort of classic scare.”
As for whether or not the series will take place in the same universe as the previous films, here’s what Antosca had to say:
“It’s consistent with that mythology, but it’s a whole new story,” Antosca said. “So you could come into it without knowing anything about the previous stuff and get into it. But it is consistent with all the mythology that has come before, so it is in canon.”
It was also noted that franchise stars Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif have been left an open door to be part of the series as well.
