Syfy ordered a pilot for a ‘Resident Alien’ television series based on Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse’s Dark Horse Comics series last year.
It was also announced that Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) will be starring in the series. Per a report from Deadline, the pilot episode has now been ordered to series. Sara Tomko (The Leftovers), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), and Levi Fiehler (The Fosters) will now star alongside Tudyk in the series.
The Universal Cable Productions, Dark Horse Entertainment, and Amblin TV project is described as a “dark, twisted and comedic fish-out-of-water story.” Chris Sheridan pens the script, which follows a crash-landed alien named Harry (played by Tudyk). Harry takes on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor. He soon begins wrestling with the moral dilemma of his mission on Earth. Harry finds himself asking the question, “Are human beings worth saving?”
The series will be executive produced by Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg, and Amblin TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
