Paramount has decided to release the film a week earlier than initially planned. Now, the film will release on October 4, 2019. The film will be written by ‘IT’ writer Gary Dauberman, who has said the film will “honor the darker, scarier tone of the show.”

For those of you not familiar with the original show, it revolved around a group of teenagers who went by the name “The Midnight Society.” The group met once a week in a secret location in the woods, and one member would tell the rest of the group a scary story. In the upcoming film, the story will focus on an original story being told by The Midnight Society.
