Bill & Ted Face the Music Gets New Trailer

Anticipation for Bill & Ted Face the Music has been building for years, with the sequel finally getting the go-ahead decades after the original. As a result, fans of the franchise have continued to look for as much information about the film as possible. While relatively little has been said by the cast and crew, the movie has finally gotten a trailer.

In addition, the trailer includes the sequel’s official release date for theaters and VOD. Orion, the studio behind the film, had initially intended to release the movie in theaters in August. Originally, it hadn’t announced when it would be available on VOD.

With the new trailer, however, it’s been revealed that Bill & Ted Face the Music will be released worldwide through both mediums on September 1. Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, and William Sadler are all returning for their original roles, while Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine joining the cast. Weaving is best known for her work on Ready or Not.

It’s also been announced that Erinn Hayes, Holland Taylor, Kid Cudi, Jillian Bell, Jayma Mays, Amy Stoch, Kristen Schaal, and Anthony Carrigan have all been cast. In contrast to Weaving and Lundy-Paine, however, their roles remain unclear.

The film follows the titular Bill and Ted, now fathers and yet to realize their rockstar dreams, as they embark on a new quest. According to an official synopsis, the characters will have to save the world by creating a song that brings harmony to the universe. To do so, they turn to their daughters, a few more historical figures, and some musical legends.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is being directed by Galaxy Quest’s Dean Parisot and has been written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who wrote the original film. You can check out the trailer below.
