Revolutionary performer Sidney Eddie Mosesian, known professionally as Sid Haig was absent from the list of figures who have impacted the world of cinema and recently passed away at this year’s Academy Awards.
Haig was mostly known for his roles in films such as House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects and 3 From Hell but had an acting career spanning back to 1960 including over 150 titles.
Whilst the Oscars have a storied past when it comes to avoiding horror nominations, it is especially poignant when such a respected actor to the genre is overlooked for something as important as a memorial.
Haig passed away last September due to complications after a fall at his Los Angeles home at the age of 80 and while he was absent from the memorial performance on the night Haig does appear on the Oscars In Memorium list on the Oscars website.
