
South Korea’s Parasite has just astonished everyone at the Oscars as it took home the award for Best Picture.
Parasite is a South Korean dark comedy thriller directed by Bong Joon Ho, which follows the members of a poor family who plan to infiltrate a wealthy family’s household by attempting to pose as unrelated, highly qualified people.
All unemployed, Ki-taek and his family take peculiar interest in the wealthy and glamorous Parks, as they ingratiate themselves into their lives and get entangled in an unexpected incident. (via IMDb)
The movie gained outstanding reviews online, managing to gain an unbelievable 99% on the Tomatometer, and a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Along with Best Picture, Parasite took home Oscars for Best Director, Best International Feature, and Best Original Screenplay.
