It looks like the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad‘ sequel will be getting a blockbuster addition to its cast.

Variety reports that WWE mega-star-turned actor John Cena is negotiating to join the cast. He’d join Margot Robbie, who reprises her role of Harley Quinn, and Idris Elba. Elba was initially brought on with the idea of having him play Deadshot, who was played by Will Smith in the original film.

However, Warner Bros. has decided on another character for Elba. Cena’s character is also unknown. James Gunn writes and directs the film, which is scheduled for an August 6, 2021 release. This would be Cena’s first comic-book role.

The first ‘Suicide Squad,’ starring Robbie, Smith, and Jared Leto, did massive numbers at the box office, bringing in a gross of $746.8 million worldwide.
