We recently reported that ‘Ghostbusters’ will be returning to the big screen in 2020.
Sony Pictures hired Jason Reitman to direct the project. It will be completely disregarding the events of Paul Feig’s 2016 adaptation. Instead, the film is expected to be the sequel to the 1989 ‘Ghostbusters 2′ film. Reitman co-wrote the script with Gil Kenan, and it’s unknown if the original three remaining busters will be part of the film.
However, a recent report from The UK Mail, who interviewed original buster Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore, suggests “everybody is in” in reference to the three men:
“I miss [Ramis], but his spirit is there. But Ivan Reitman is there and everybody is in. Now whether the studio will do it, I’m the guy who sits by the phone and waits for the call. So if they call, I’ll answer. If not, I’ve got other stuff that I’m doing.”
Sony has now given an official release date for the new ‘Ghostbusters’ film. The movie will be released on July 10, 2020. Expect a lot more news on the film to be coming out in the next few months.
