Celebrating the 32nd anniversary of its original theatrical release this year, Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice is a landmark movie for horror cinema. Boasted by the iconic – arguably, his best – performance of Michael Keaton as the titular poltergeist, movie buffs and fans all over the world would probably consider this film as a go-to title for their Halloween movie nights.
A sequel has long been considered by Warner Bros. Pictures, most recently, being one of their priority project in 2011. The planned Beetlejuice sequel has tapped Seth Grahame-Smith (Burton’s collaborator for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Dark Shadows) to write the screenplay with Keaton and Wynona Ryder set to reprise their memorable characters from the first movie.
While a follow-up seems exciting, there’s no denying that Beetlejuice in itself is untouchable, endlessly watchable, and can perfectly stand on its own.
If you’re looking for the perfect opportunity to watch the movie again, you will be pleased to know that the 4K version of Beetlejuice is officially arriving this September 1, 2020, via a deluxe edition 4K Ultra HD giftset.
For fans who are willing to shell out additional bucks for their Beetlejuice or Tim Burton collection, this 4K version of the movie is the clearest format available – way clearer and sharper than the already available Blu-ray.
A listing on Amazon has not confirmed the full list of special features inside the gift set, but we are expecting new materials popping in there somewhere.
But the goodies in the Beetlejuice Deluxe Edition 4K Ultra HD Giftset, priced at $49.99, is already a win, comprising of a special edition gift box, a “Betelgeuse” poster, glow-in-the-dark patch, and collectible chalk.
